According to their website – Taffi and Jibolu designed Africa’s first foldable ballerina flat that is fashionable, comfortable and so convenient that it can be folded up and tucked inside a small handbag, office drawer or the glove compartment of a car.
The company aims to create a platform for creative talent on the African continent by crowd-sourcing designs from African men and women who would otherwise have limited opportunities to design for a global audience. Every purchase results in shared profits with the designers. Additionally, they hope to support youth entrepreneurship in Africa from a percentage of their corporate profits.
Thando’s shoes come in multiple colors and styles including African fabrics to match the modern woman’s wardrobe. The shoes are also moderately priced so that women can easily own more than one pair and not break the bank. They also make for great souvenirs and can be custom ordered in bulk for weddings and events.
We caught up with Taffi at a location in Lagos and made this video. Watch, comment and share – let us know what you think?
