Have you noticed a drop in your Facebook engagement? Wondering how you can better engage with your fans? With over 1 billion daily active users, more than Twitter, Whatsapp and Instagram combined, you don’t want to be left out in the discussion on this platform. Every minute, over 500,000 comments are posted, don’t you want to be part of this statistics?
I would like to point that the ultimate tip to boost engagement is to have a content strategy , without this you would be wasting your time.
Tips To Boost Facebook Engagement
1. Create Value
This comes into play when you are posting content for your page. Being in tune with your buyer persona makes it easy to know what content to publish. Create content that solve problems for your fans, making it easy for them engage with you. Example if you sell wigs, create content on tips about styling wigs, care for wigs, funny quotes about wigs etc.
2. Avoid Overselling
Try not to make every post about a sale. You will probably end up annoying your Facebook fans. Instead generate a variety of content that align with your goals. Post photos, blog posts, event invites, jokes, quotes, tips etc that your audience will find entertaining and informative.
3. Post More Images
It is a proven fact that images have more engagement than texts, more importantly they are shared more. Post attractive images your audience can relate to. Thankfully, you don’t need to break the bank to get beautiful images. With apps like Canva and word swag you can create compelling designs your Facebook fans would love.
4. Experiment With Time
Often time pages post only during official business hours; to ensure optimal engagement, post at different times of the day and night. I know what you’re thinking; ain’t nobody got time for that. You can schedule posts ahead of time with social media management tools like Hootsuite (my favourite), Buffer and , Tweetdeck. Even Facebook has its own scheduling tool. You can check insights daily to see how your posts do.
5. Be Consistent
Post at least three times daily. Once you know what time your audience engages with your posts most, post around those times. Don’t be on and off. This is why you should come up with a content strategy so you don’t get choked up or overwhelmed and then abandon the page.
6. Engage with your Audience
One of the most basic tips to boost Facebook engagement is by asking your fans questions. Find a way to leverage your Facebook fans interest and needs into these questions. They will be sure to answer it.
Here are some questions to ask;
What’s your favorite…?
How do you…?
What’s your favorite moment from experience/memory…?
Do you think…? (controversial question)
Why do you…?
Who is going/Who attended…?
Today is…, so what are you…?
Another way to engage with your audience is by asking them to make a choice. Ask them to choose between “this or that.” This can even make them engage with themselves.
7. Check Facebook Insights Daily
Check your insights daily to know how your posts are doing and focus on content that have the best engagement. Push more of this content out because that is obviously what your fans want.
As a recap, to increase your engagement, develop a content strategy that includes beautifully designed photos and content around posts that would educate and entertain your audience. Avoid overselling and always check your Facebook insights so you know what kinds of posts work best for your audience and push out more of those content.
